Fork Shoals Second Grade donates to the Ronald McDonald House
|
The Fork Shoals second graders, as part of their International Baccalaureate planner, Money Makes the World Go Round, took part in a class business to make their product 'Penguin Crunch.'
Second
graders, led by their teachers, Amy Blanchard, Mary Farrow, Beth
DeGeorge, Cassandra Garrett, Julie McGrath and Kathy Saxson, took part
in all the aspects of running a business- advertising for their product; manufacturing it and then marketing and selling it, all while learning
about how jobs and business in the world operate. Ultimately, they learned about
goods and services while doing this project.
But at the end of their business day, they didn't spend their profits, they invested them. These students decided to take their profits and donate them to the
Ronald McDonald House, to help families in the Upstate.
We here at the Ronald McDonald House Charities
of the Carolinas want to say "Thank You" to the second grade students and faculty for helping to put the "love" into the "House that Love Built!" |
